Protect the tender bark of young trees.
Protect your investment from gnawing animals, sun scald and more. Our lightweight perforated plastic spirals are easy to install and last for many years. Put them on right after you plant, which is when your new tree is most vulnerable. Occasionally adjust the spiral and let it “grow” with your tree, and remove any grass that may have grown up inside it. Also take care to keep lawn equipment from hitting the guards, which can girdle the tree, a major cause of mortality. Use Stark Tree Guards along with our Tree Circles to provide protection for both the trunk and roots.
Ships in packs of 3.
Options:
- Choose the 25 cm (10″) guard for columnar trees
- Choose the 50 cm (20″) guard for young trees
- Choose the 101 cm (40″) guard for larger trees
JOSEPH BATES –
Easy to use and effective at protecting the bark. Nice that you don’t have to take them off but that they expand with growth.
ROBERT EKES –
Delivered promptly. I ordered longer sizes and cut them into smaller lengths for multiple dwarf trees. Easy to apply. Worked well this winter. Enjoyed the bunnies instead of chasing them away.
DERRICK AULABAUGH –
They’re keeping the rabbits from chewing the bark off my fruit trees and deflecting the mower side shoot if I get too close. Easy to install and cut to height. Durable after 1 winter with no signs of deterioration or damage. Don’t have deer around so can’t comment on how it works against them.
PAMELA HARDEN –
I can highly recommend these tree guards. Not only did it stop the rabbits from chewing on our trees, but it stopped the deer from antler rubbing as well. Brilliant!
KATHLEEN GARDNER –
Easy to apply. I can’ tell how well they have protected my trees yet because it is so early in the season it my young trees look happy!
Samya Peterson –
These are fast and easy to apply on the trees !!! This will also make for effortless removal in the spring. Thank you very much !!
HARRY T SMITH –
They do the job quite well. Just want to avoid having them become a hiding place for unwanted critters in bug form. HTS
C Davis –
If you want to protect your young trees from rabbits especially, use tree guards but make sure to get the taller ones. Rabbits will stand on their hind legs to reach higher, or if there is snowpack they are able to sit on the snow and munch higher than they are otherwise able to do.Check at the end of each growing season to make sure the tree guards are nor tight around the trunk. Remove and use a wider diameter tree guard if one is still needed.
CHRIS NEY –
Done in seconds. Planted trees year before and didn’t use guards. Put all that work in to have trees rubbed by deer and chewed at by rabbits, I assume. Do yourself a favor and install these.
MARY ANNA EVANS –
The tree wraps are working well for my baby trees. Good design.
