Protect the tender bark of young trees.

Protect your investment from gnawing animals, sun scald and more. Our lightweight perforated plastic spirals are easy to install and last for many years. Put them on right after you plant, which is when your new tree is most vulnerable. Occasionally adjust the spiral and let it “grow” with your tree, and remove any grass that may have grown up inside it. Also take care to keep lawn equipment from hitting the guards, which can girdle the tree, a major cause of mortality. Use Stark Tree Guards along with our Tree Circles to provide protection for both the trunk and roots.

Ships in packs of 3.

Options:

  • Choose the 25 cm (10″) guard for columnar trees
  • Choose the 50 cm (20″) guard for young trees
  • Choose the 101 cm (40″) guard for larger trees

I purchased tree guards for the 6 different fruit trees I planted last spring. The trees look wonderful and I believe the tree guards have helped save the tender bark on these young trees. They are sturdy and easy to use.

  2. Amanda Baker

Tree guard works great for our fruit trees, but shipping is high. Was surprised to see there was no free shipping offered over certain amount.

  3. Renee Wampler

Bought the tree guards for our dwarf fruit trees. Sturdy, but flexible and easy to put in. good purchase!

  4. James Wilkins

I was looking for simple but effective deer protection for the trunks of young apple trees. The Stark Tree Guard was exactly what I hoped it would be. It took one minute to install. Initial quality seemed excellent.

  5. Brian Severs

My wife has already zapped this guard a few times with the weed whacker.

  6. Linda Shoemake

These are really small so they won’t really guard much but they help me see where the trees are planted….I wouldn’t buy them again. I’d get something more sturdy.

  7. Doreen Youngflesh

The tree guards I ordered were exactly what I was looking for. It would be nice if these came in a color other than white. The color white attracts love bugs. They fit perfectly and can be cut to fit your desired length. I would recommend these to protect newly planted young trees.

  8. LYNETTE SWANTACK

The spreaders do just what they are supposed to do… spread limbs apart. They have not dislodged nor have they broken.

  9. Rex Grice

Use tree guards on all our fruit trees. Have worked well and kept rodents away and protected tree bark from sun burn.

  10. Susan Scherer

I am very satisfied with the tree guards, and will probably order more in the fall. They go on easily, and they allow for ventilation while giving protection to the tree trunks.
