Self-Pollinating

America’s favorite cherry!

This early-season tree will give you pound after pound of bright-red, tart fruits—use them to make utterly delicious pies and cobblers, or freeze them for later use. The yellow flesh makes clear juice. A naturally dwarf tree, ideal for small spaces. Originates from Montmorency Valley, France in the 13th century, introduced to the U.S. in 1852. Cold-hardy. Ripens in June. Self-pollinating.

How do I find my Hardiness Zone?

Canada’s Plant Hardiness Zones will tell you which plants will do well in your particular climate. Each zone is determined by the lowest average winter temperature recorded in a given area. Hardiness Zone information is included on all tree and plant product pages, so you know instantly whether a certain plant is likely to succeed where you live. The description said the flavor was tangy, our was not but instead very sour.Otherwise was a good product.

  2. DAVID NUSZ

I bought two cherry trees and planted them in 2018. The main “trunk” never leafed out this year. It sprouted from down near the base. Not pleases.

  3. Colette Mosley

first year and my 2 trees survived a harsh winter, deer and many other creatures that live here in okanogan county but got a large hand full of cherries. Looking forward to more next year.

Lost 1st one due to extreme rainfall right after I planted it in early spring. Decided to buy another even though this is not the best time of year (June) to plant fruit trees in Middle TN. So far so good. Leaf shoots are appearing and by the sweltering temps of mid-July I may have to water every 3 or 4 days but I am committed to helping it survive without babying it. Had a Stark’s North Star at my previous home in the cooler plateau region, and it produced a good crop practically every year (10+).

Both trees I received were larger than I had thought they would be! Both were really healthy looking! Had one die, but I think it had something to do where I had planted it, not the tree itself. Would buy from here again. Very satisfied with my remaining tree that is doing quite well.

  6. Robert Paterno

Planted two bare root in the fall. The root system on both was entirely intact and very well formed, making them very easy to plant. By the following spring the trees were well enough established to start growing very quickly, putting on 18″ growth between breaking dormancy in April to mid-June. No fertilizer or soil amendments were used, the native soil is fertile enough, and apparently agrees with this species. I have purchased several different types of plants from Stark Bros., and the quality is consistently excellent, making them my first choice for purchases..

  7. Dianna Dudley

Well the 2 cherry trees survived a harsh Adirondack Winter!! For their 2nd year, there were a few blossoms and i am hoping to see some fruit on them. The deer got to them last year, so they were not the least bit impressive. However, the foliage is nice and green this year and very well protected from the deer. I am very impressed that the trees are doing well :-)

  8. Claude Grace

The cherry “tree” arrived barefoot and healthy. It has leafed out, but has not blossomed. We have had typical inland northwest weather and the cherry sapling has survived a harsh snowy winter, violent rain/thunderstorms during spring and now, very hot pre-summer. Sapling is protected with deer-fencing and sprayed with organic pest spray. Since tree has not blossomed/fruited, it is receiving 4 stars.

  9. JERRY DAVIDSON

I liked the two trees I bought, although one died the other is still going strong.. Protection from rabbits is a must and either buy taller trees or provide additional protection from marauding deer or the occasional hungry goat that believes you planted said tree as a tasty morsel for his pallet or as a device useful for the cleaning of his horns and satisfying an itch in a hard to reach spot. those things aside. i would buy again from this supplier.

  10. David Garber

I planted it and it never came back in the spring. Very disappointing!
