Self-Pollinating

America’s favorite cherry!

This early-season tree will give you pound after pound of bright-red, tart fruits—use them to make utterly delicious pies and cobblers, or freeze them for later use. The yellow flesh makes clear juice. A naturally dwarf tree, ideal for small spaces. Originates from Montmorency Valley, France in the 13th century, introduced to the U.S. in 1852. Cold-hardy. Ripens in June. Self-pollinating.

I have three different types of Cherry trees from Stark Bros. All are different ages. All are doing great this year. Getting my first cherry off the oldest this year.

  2. MAUREEN DORAN

I would recommend this product. The tree arrived in good shape and is thriving.

  3. JOHN THOMAS

My dad purchased a Montmorency pie Cherry from Stark Brothers approx sixty years ago. It was wonderful! The Montmorency pie Cherry I purchased was very good as well! I recommend Stark Brothers trees for any one wanting quality trees at a good price.

  4. Mick Mick

Probably too early to write a review for this cherry tree. Didn’t expect anything this year since I only planted it last year. It looks beautiful! The tree has really taken off in growth. Has only about 4 blooms on it, but hey, it is it’s first year and it looks extremely healthy. I still think the key to planting these trees is as early in the season as possible. I planted these when the frost just barely left the soil. Northern Indiana

  5. MARTY DWYER

The second time i have planted this tree. Kept it water properly but the second year it did not make it again. Not to harsh of a winter so not sure why.

  6. JORG HUCKABEE-MAYFIELD

I planted this tree a little late in the season, so I would have understood if it had not done well. But it leafed right out and actually has two small cherries on it this year, which I also would not have expected in a tree this age. Overall, it is robust and undemanding. I can absolutely recommend this one.

  7. KRIS ROSENBERG

Strong tree with many tart treats for the beginning of summer!

  8. JOSEPH SINE

I have had this cherry before and loved it. Unfortunately, it did not not leaf out this spring. It is not dead, but just appears to be dormant. I was going to try to get some root stimulator and try that. Any suggestions?

  9. JANET BAKER

This cherry variety grows and produces extremely well here in Oklahoma. It produces cherries in a very short period of time (within 4-5 years) with some cherries produced while a very small tree. Our favorite!

  10. BETH ROONEY

I wanted to plant a pie cherry tree in the fall so it would have a head start come springtime. Most suppliers I tried did not sell this tree in the fall, but Stark had dormant bare-root trees available. I received the tree, and following the instructions included, was able to hold the tree for 2 weeks before planting it. It set leaf buds in April and is leafing out nicely now. So far so good!
