Pollinator required to bear fruit
Prepare for a spectacular show of blooms in the spring!
Also known as Kalle Red Pear
Red Clapp’s pears are a generous size, with gorgeous scarlet skin and pale vanilla-colored flesh. High juice content makes them superb for eating fresh but the fine-textured pear will hold its shape well for preserves or canning. For best results, thin the fruit to about 5 inches apart. Tolerates clay soil. Originated as a natural mutation of Clapp’s Favorite. Ripens in late August. Pollinator required: Choose Moonglow or Beurre Bosc.

How do I find my Hardiness Zone?
Canada’s Plant Hardiness Zones will tell you which plants will do well in your particular climate. Each zone is determined by the lowest average winter temperature recorded in a given area. Hardiness Zone information is included on all tree and plant product pages, so you know instantly whether a certain plant is likely to succeed where you live. Natural Resources Canada provides helpful options to find your zone:

Big healthy trees, well packaged and fast shipping. bought 8 pear trees
Suzanne Daum –
It has not produced fruit yet, but it has become an excellent pollinator for our 2 other pear trees! The other 2 pear trees had never produced fruit for 3 previous years. With the Red Clapps pear they immediately produced lots of pears!
Michael Mezerewski –
Unfortunately tree arrived in poor shape. This is the only tree from Stark’s that I have lost. Planted another tree in the exact same spot and it is doing well.
