Craving fall apples in late summer?
Plant Ginger Gold® and start enjoying these pretty fruits before the leaves start to fall. The attractive chartreuse skin sports a golden glow that’s hard to resist. Ginger Gold® offers a serious crunch into refreshing, slightly tart flesh, and has the bonus of a natural resistance to browning. Excellent for fresh eating and salads. Originated in Virginia in the 1960s. Heat-tolerant for Southern growers!

How do I find my Hardiness Zone?
Canada’s Plant Hardiness Zones will tell you which plants will do well in your particular climate. Each zone is determined by the lowest average winter temperature recorded in a given area. Hardiness Zone information is included on all tree and plant product pages, so you know instantly whether a certain plant is likely to succeed where you live. Natural Resources Canada provides helpful options to find your zone:

Stark Bro’s is the best! Good strong plants…I’m loving all the trees ordered from Stark Bro’s…
FAY MILLER –
Just purchased this year. It arrived as a nice sized, healthy tree. It is growing well. I tied a plastic apple near & covered with a sticky substance for catching bugs. Can’t see the apple for the bugs. The tree is surviving well. I also tied a bar of soap to a piece of yarn and hung from the tree to keep the numerous deer away. It works! Lily

I was a little disappointed that this tree is so small… I thought it would be a bigger tree. Still alive. So that’s good
Wendy Brown –
Both trees grew last year after they were planted. This year, the wolf river variety leafed out this spring and is showing good growth. The ginger gold variety, planted 15 feet away, began to leaf out and then the tree died. No obvious cause. Possibly due to soil fungus. In a garden, plants die.

This is a must- have apple for any family orchard. It is very crisp and sweet. I have planted this tree three times, the first about 5 years ago and the last just last spring. It is well established and growing rapidly. I am well versed with apple varieties as my father owned and operated 200 acres of apples beginning in the early 1940’s. He changed varieties often to keep up with consumer trends. This was one he and I loved.

Taking off like a weed amazing super strong grower

Got a Ginger Gold a year ago to add to my ‘green apple’ section. A year later its growing well and is very healthy. Looking forward to getting some flowers next year and some apples after that. Happy with my purchase!
KEVIN BITZER –
Bought two of these trees last year planted them exactly the same way in the same soil. One grew like crazy and the other struggled to produce leaves. That one appears dead now so I ordered a replacement. I’m going to try planting it somewhere else and hope it does as well as the one that survived.
KAREN PAPADOPOULOS –
I ordered this last year and didn’t expect it to do much, but it is branching out and flowering already. I believe that this is unusual for a Semi-Dwarf tree!! It is really healthy looking, and I hope for many Apples from it in the years to come.
