A popular cultivar renowned for its distinctive butterscotch flavor.

Maintains freshness for up to 20 weeks. Crisp, juicy, and flavorful white flesh is encased in a green-to-yellow-brown russeted skin. Resembling Asian pears found in grocery stores, but the homegrown variety offers a much superior taste. Harvest when the fruit first turns yellow-brown in color, ripening after the New Century variety. Originating from Japan in 1895. Ripens in late August. Pollinator required.
