The fruit has red skin with bronze overtones and juicy yellow flesh that smells and tastes just like candy-store bubblegum—they’ll get eaten as fast as you can pick ’em!
Extremely cold-hardy; tolerant of temperatures as low as -50ºF. Clingstone. Originated in South Dakota in 1911. Ripens in July. Pollinator required to bear fruit.

Pollination
This variety requires another one for adequate pollination.
Cross-pollination by a different variety is key to its growing and bearing success. Plant a different variety within 15 meters (50 feet) for best pollination.
How do I find my Hardiness Zone?
Canada’s Plant Hardiness Zones will tell you which plants will do well in your particular climate. Each zone is determined by the lowest average winter temperature recorded in a given area. Hardiness Zone information is included on all tree and plant product pages, so you know instantly whether a certain plant is likely to succeed where you live. Natural Resources Canada provides helpful options to find your zone:

I cannot begun to write any thing good about Bubblegum. All I can say about the eight trees that I received from you folks is that made it through the winter. Only 2 of the trees showed life last year and nothing has grown on the trees this year . I am terriably disappointed with the trees which I received from Stark Bros on this item
Randy Mann –
Plums grow very very fast, and this plum is no exception. 2nd year I have had the tree and its doing very well.
Thomas Gersztyn –
It has only been one year but the Bubblegum plum look happy, healthy, and very green. I look forward to tasting the fruit from it!
Margaret White –
Tree is vigorous and healthy. Growing great guns. Can’t wait to get fruit next year.
Valerie Engelman –
Beautiful strong tree standing up to some strong winds and cold winter. Excited to be getting fruit this year.
Stephanie Razzeto –
I’m amazed at how quickly this tree has grown. It’s already much bigger than a tree I’ve had twice as long. Very healthy leaves with no sign of disease or pests.
Jane Riley –
Bubblegum plum is doing fine, even had a few blooms. LSU fig died even though it didn’t freeze very often, milder than usual winter. Maybe we needed a different kind as I know fig trees grow up in Brigham City. Fruit is smaller but good. Don’t send another fig. We’ll get 2 dwarf peach trees instead, an early and a late. Thanks.

I purchased my bubblegum plum tree last year to cross pollinate with my black ice plum which I purchased from another nursery. I purchased the bubblegum plum at a really great price super affordable was kinda skeptical at first but when I got it was healthy didn’t go through any shock, it grew a few feet, survived our wacky winter and this season its so pretty and tall and even has a few plums on it…maybe about 5 or 6..my black ice plum which is also a lovely tree didn’t fruit. Super happy with it don’t hesitate on purchasing from Stark Bros.

Tree is still very young but is growing beautifully!

We planted 2 of these for our grandchildren about this time last year, they haven’t gotten fruit on them yet, but they are strong and healthy trees, and we can’t wait to try them, when they bear the plums.
