I bought a Bing Cherry, along with many others, this spring. This tree is doing wonderful and has a lot of new growth. When they arrived, they were packaged well but a tad dry. I put them in a bucket with some water for two days before planting. It grew about a foot since spring and has tons of leaves!

I’ve purchased two of these Standard Bing bare root cherry trees from Stark in the last few years. One made some leaves but didn’t make it through the first year. Stark gave credit on that tree, so no loss there. The other began branching quickly and making many leaves soon after planting. That one is now currently about twelve feet tall with a 2″ thick trunk and growing well in a row alongside a Windsor, Rainier, and Black Tartarian Cherry trees – also purchased from Stark. This Bing cherry made a few blossoms this year for the first time. All of the cherry trees in this row and my Stark Napoleon Royal Ann cherries in the adjacent row had blooms this year, and I expect they will all make many more blooms in the coming year – possibly cherries. The care this tree has had is the same as my other cherry trees. That initial care has been potting in Miracle Grow for one season in a protected area before planting in the ground. I also use of Stark’s Tree Pep, Milky Spore grub control granules, and Neem oil mixed with Pyrethrin based sprays only when needed. The only other care has been removal of low limbs as needed, and the use of five foot wire fencing to keep the deer and rabbits away from my young trees. I only wish the other Bing had grown as this one has.

I purchased this cherry tree with 7 others fruit trees this Spring 2020 but the cherry tree died and There is another cherry tree that is not doing that good either but all other 6 trees are doing perfect I’m happy and we Definitely order again

This is the only tree that made it. All are not sprouting, budding or anything. Happy with this little tree. Very discouraged with all the others.

Both of the cherry trees I ordered died… I was hoping they were only in shock and would begin growing this spring, but neither one of them even sprouted a single leaf! When buying a bare root tree, you have to be prepared that it might not survive! There is only a 50% chance of survival, so the company isnt responsible for them not making it…

I bought 2 and 1 is growing well while the other one died

  7. Domo Domo

I planted 2 cherry trees last year both died. Their was a lot of rain and probably too much water for them.

  8. WENDY KUNTZ

I ordered two cherry trees last year unfortunately one did not make it through the winter so I guess I’m at a 50% rate of success

The Bing Cherry tree just leafed out. No flowers yet but I’m looking forward to Bing cherries in years to come.

I purchased 10 assorted cherry trees from Stark Bro’s a year ago. 2 of them were for my dad.His are doing fine, but all 8 of mine died.I didn’t have the time or resources to replant again this spring.Apple trees that I have purchsed from Stark bro’s have done well at my place, but I have had better luck with the smaller size cherry trees vs the 5/8″ diameter cherry trees.I will try to replant again in the spring of 2020
